In 2022, the Dutch Data Protection Authority imposed fines for the lack of risk analyzes (DPIA), the use of blacklists, insufficient security measures and the unnecessary requesting of identity documents when requesting access. When it comes to international data transfers to the US, there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel. The European Data Protection Board also did not sit idle last year and drew up new (draft) guidelines. In addition, the EU is busy with the “European Data Strategy” and associated new legislation.
What can you learn from the AP's fine decisions, what are developments to take into account, what new European regulations are coming in the field of data and how compliant is your company (still) approximately 5 years after the GDPR comes into effect?
