Since August 2011 Taufan Homan works at Banning Advocaten. Before that time he worked as partner/head of the Scientific Department at a law firm in Rotterdam, and before that as a lecturer/researcher at the University of Tilburg.
Taufan works in the field of company law. He focuses primarily on the Wet op het financieel toezicht (Financial Supervision Act), in particular in the fields of market entry, information and reporting duties, duty of care, and compliance, supervision and enforcement issues Taufan also has expertise in the fields of consumer credit, prospectus liability under civil law, and the Wet ter voorkoming van witwassen en financieren van terrorisme (Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Act).
Taufan is affiliated with the Company Law department of the Erasmus University of Rotterdam (EUR) and in that context lectures not only at the EUR but also at the University of Groningen, in the Banking and Securities Law master’s course.
Taufan regularly publishes on the above subjects and is also a permanent editor of e.g. the Wettenbundel Ondernemingsrecht (Corporate Law Collection of Legislation) and the Wettenbundel Financieel recht (Financial Law Collection of Legislation), regularly lectures at e.g. Euroforum/Informa and Berghauser Pont Academy, and also regularly gives in-company courses.
