Children should never be adversely affected by a divorce or separation. When parents break off their relationship, they must therefore make proper arrangements for their children. Since 1 March 2009 parents have been obliged to lay down these arrangements prior to their divorce, in a so-called parenting plan. The family law lawyers at BANNING aim to have the parents make these arrangements for their children as much as possible in agreement, a process in which they can draw on their experience as mediators. If the parents fail to reach agreement, a court case is inevitable.
