Silvia studied European law at Tilburg University. After graduating she took up employment with the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa), where she was involved in investigating cartels and assessing a range of cooperative ventures, such as those in the construction and energy sectors. She has also acquired broad experience in the settlement of disputes under the Electricity and Gas Act.

Silvia has been working for BANNING since 2007, in the EU & Competition practice group. Her work includes drafting compliance programmes and advising companies on a wide range of issues. She also represents companies in proceedings before the NMa and the civil court.

Silvia successfully completed the Grotius specialist course in European and Dutch competition law, and a postgraduate course in energy law.
